A typical Gotfredson with an untypical body, an early refrigerated unit. The "non-mechanical" refrigeration suggests that hold over plates were used instead. These absorbed heat, which was then discharged when the plates were removed from the trucks and charged for reuse again. The Gotfredson pictured is a 1926 or 1927 with a box build by the Smith Brothers from Toronto, Ontario. It seems they matched up well on several units.
